Men’s Tennis makes State runner ups

Cox, Rose become 4A State Champs

Men’s tennis team proudly holds 2nd place trophy.

The Skyhawks’ Men’s Tennis team became State Runner Ups. They lost only two matches in league play, and charged their way to the 4A finals. There they narrowly fell to Shadow Ridge, 8-10, only two sets short of victory.

“We were very close with Shadow Ridge. They won a couple close matches, so we took second,” said Matthew Philips, tennis coach. “But it was still a very good season.”

Silverado’s Tennis players also competed in the individuals tournament. Shawn Carter and Gavin Migliacco made it to the quarterfinals for doubles, but fell to Spring Valley. Will Cox and Tyler Rose became 4A doubles state champions, and Nathan Rose becames 4A Singles State Champion. 

“It was fun, and our team was very encouraging and supportive,” said senior tennis player Maggie Michel.
