Doja Cat makes new name for herself

Pop artist Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, better known as Doja Cat, has become well respected over the years. Her music has captivated many fans. You may know her from hit songs such as “Say So,” “Kiss Me More,” and “Need To Know.” 

However, lately she has not shown the same love to her fans that they’ve shown to her throughout the years. Doja’s fans consider themselves to be “kittens,”  although she is not pleased with this name. 

“If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or ‘kittenz,’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house,” Doja wrote on Threads. 

“Threads” is an app for sharing text updates and joining public conversations, newly created by the Instagram team.

This isn’t the only incident charged with disrespect that she’s directed to fans. 

In July, a fan posted on Threads, “I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys) as usual you say to your fans.”

“I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all,” Doja replied.

“The disrespect towards the people who made her what she is is disgusting, paints a really bad picture for her and her values,” @HipHopAllDayy tweeted. 

The public is not happy with Doja’s reply to this comment. In fact, many think this could be one of the main causes of Doja’s potential downfall. 

Another fan responded to Doja’s previous comment: “and we don’t know you. But we have supported you through thick and thin. Mind you you’d be NOTHING without us,” the fan angrily and passionately wriote. “You’d be working at a grocery store making songs on garage band miss high school drop out…”

“Nobody forced you idk why you’re talking to me like your my mother you sound like a crazy person,” Doja replied back. 

It would be a real shame to see Doja Cat’s career become at risk. However, if she keeps disrespecting her fans, then we might see a potentially brutal end to her years of hard work and music.
