A certain game has been making its way across Silverado lately. Students have been spotted playing it in class, at lunch, and before school. “Dress to Impress” is a Roblox fashion game where users compete to make the best outfit. In each round, players have five minutes to make an outfit with a specific theme.
The game has a wide variety of items, such as hair and accessories, that you can use to customize your outfit. Surprisingly, the game doesn’t feel repetitive. Each round, there’s a new theme, and there are various ways to handle a single theme. Besides, you’re probably not going to have the same people on your server each time, making it so that no two games of “Dress to Impress” are exactly the same.
I enjoy the wide variety of themes this game has to offer. From “Sad Day” to “Wild West,” the themes you can get in a round are pretty diverse. It’s fascinating how a single theme can be interpreted in various ways. One of my favorite themes is theater because it tends to have people dress up as characters from their favorite musicals.
The game utilizes its multiplayer functionality pretty well. You have the option to play as a duo, which allows two players to walk the runway at the same time. This makes way for some interesting matching outfits.
However, the game has some flaws. Clothing items for the male body are limited compared to the female body, which pushes people away from playing as a man. Moreover, some problems lie with the player base itself. As previously mentioned, voting is based on a star system where users can rate an outfit one out of five stars. After voting, users with the top scores get placed on the podium.
This system, however, can be easily abused. Some users vote everybody one star for a chance on the podium, paying no attention to the actual quality of the outfits. Oftentimes, I’d find myself in a situation where the same group of friends were consistently getting on the podium. These friends would consistently vote each other five stars while giving all the other players one star. This is extremely upsetting to the rest of the people on the server, and it demotivates people from trying. Due to the prevalence of this issue, different friend groups find themselves imitating this exact behavior.
Despite its flaws, “Dress to Impress” is an enjoyable game with lots to offer. I would recommend this game to any fashion enthusiast and those looking for a fun game to play with friends.
