Chess Club ends competition season

The 2019-2020 Chess match season has come to a close. Silverado’s team finished in 5th place for the Southeast Division with a record of 2-8, just missing the chance to qualify for the playoffs.

This does not, however, mean that the club has ceased its meetings. While membership always dwindles after the season ends, some faithful members continue to show up and practice their moves.

“This year, the club will remain open every Tuesday for people to come in and play chess,” club president Adam Caballero (12) said. “Next year it should follow the same routine.”

Caballero encourages students to come by and play with the team on Tuesdays in room 800, when school resumes.
