Every year at Silverado High School, the Junior-Senior dance called prom takes place near the end of the school year. This year’s prom took place on Apr. 6.
From Apr. 2-5, the week of prom had yet another spirit week with different dress-up days.
The dress-up days were Tuesday, Lightning McQueen’s Country Vs. City; Wednesday, WALL-E & EVA’S Dress As Your Type; Thursday, Carl and Russel’s Young Vs. Old, (the freshmen and sophomores were the youngsters as the juniors and seniors were old), and Friday, Finding Nemo’s Tropical Day.
On Apr. 5, the classes were shortened for an assembly that was held to announce the prom royalty court.
This year’s prom court was Baylee Baker as queen, Cyril Franklin Jr. as king, Viktoria Copatch as the princess, and Myles Oliver as the prince.
The prom dance took place at the Dragon Ridge Country Club.
“The best part was the place it was at and the view outside the balcony,” junior Shancey Rivera said.
The theme of this year’s prom was called the “Masquerade.”
“The theme was cute. It was pretty fancy,” Rivera said.
Every prom that takes place each school year has hundreds of students who attend and happen to have fun and enjoy it.
“I enjoyed being there,” Rivera said. “The music was good and I had fun.”
